The Q Word

The Q word is an ongoing personal project which I also based my final year dissertation on.

As a member of the queer community, inclusivity and diversity are a key focus of mine and something I continue to use as inspiration in my creative work.

 

It started off with a photography project where I documented stories of Queer people around me and took studio fashion style photos of each individual. This has since turned into a magazine and ongoing series that I enjoy pursuing. Giving queer people from different countries an outlet to share their life and story gives me motivation and inspiration.

 

Whilst studying at Alma College in Michigan I got even more insight from different cultures and nationalities, and with this the Q***R magazine came to life. 

 

I used my skills as a photographer and designer to create a print publication with bold colour and branding throughout, and let the words be from the people involved themselves. Below you can find a preview of both the Q***R photo series magazine, and also my 4th year University dissertation that used the same context.
